Um rebranding ousado e polêmico tenta reavivar o ícone britânico
Se 2025 marcou os 40 anos da malfadada mudança de sabor da Coca-Cola, com a New Coke, o triênio 2024-26 pode ser lembrado no futuro como a mais ousada tentativa de renascimento de uma marca, a Jaguar. Iniciado em fins de 2024 com uma campanha polêmica nas redes sociais, o rebranding radical praticamente fez pó do passado aristocrático da montadora britânica e causou alvoroço no mundinho do marketing e da comunicação. Mas as razões de um movimento e de outro diferem bastante.
Enquanto a Coca-Cola deixou-se levar pelo avanço de uma concorrente e por “derrotas” frequentes em testes-cegos, a fabricante de automóveis lançou-se à aventura de se reinventar porque não enxergava alternativas de sobrevivência. Mergulhada em maus resultados há décadas, mesmo depois de adquirida pela indiana Tata Motors, a Jaguar mudou para não morrer.
E começou pela decisão de só fabricar carros elétricos a partir de agora, o que justifica a aposentadoria da imagem de um felino rugindo na grade dianteira (embora conserve a outra, do animal saltando, nas laterais). E seguiu com o tom jovial das peças, as cores vibrantes e o design futurista do carro-conceito que chega às lojas ano que vem, todos propositadamente opostos à imagem da envelhecida companhia. “Ajustes pontuais e pequenos aprimoramentos não seriam suficientes. Quando banhos de loja não dão resultado e nada mais resta a não ser a refundação, põe-se em xeque a ideia de que uma marca é um ativo valioso graças ao recall e à credibilidade. Às vezes, ela é apenas um bom nome envolto em um legado, nada mais.
Segundo: não se pode recuar diante das primeiras reações à mudança. A campanha da Jaguar desagradou a muita gente, mas boa parte das queixas veio de quem não fazia parte de seu target – nem antes, nem agora. Por que se importar com não-clientes, então? Blindar-se da repercussão negativa é necessário para quem tem convicção da transformação que conduz.
Por fim, as melhores referências para um negócio em reinvenção podem estar em outros ramos, e não no seu. A Jaguar confessadamente inspira-se na moda para renascer. Pruma era em que “carros não são apenas carros – mas produtos de tecnologia de luxo (…) para consumidores (…) que se importam menos com o som do motor (…) e mais com a forma como o carro se encaixa no seu estilo de vida” (ibidem, p. 97), espelhar-se em Hermés, Gucci e Adidas pode ser um verdadeiro pulo-do-gato.

Santa Catarina foi o estado brasileiro que mais abriu cervejarias ao longo do ano passado, conforme publicação do Anuário da Cerveja publicado em agosto pelo Ministério de Agricultura e Pecuária (Mapa). O estado ganhou 25 novos estabelecimentos em 2024, um aumento de 11,1%. Além disso, o número de novas cervejarias em Santa Catarina representa quase um quarto de todo o crescimento nacional, que foi de 102 novos estabelecimentos no mesmo período. O levantamento revela ainda que, com o avanço alcançado em 2024, Santa Catarina chegou ao total de 250 cervejarias. Desse modo, o estado é o terceiro colocado no ranking nacional em número de empresas fabricantes de cerveja, atrás apenas de São Paulo (427) e Rio Grande do Sul (349). Além disso, Santa Catarina aumentou a participação no todo nacional e agora representa 12,8% entre as 1.949 cervejarias do país.
Conforme o Anuário da Cerveja (Cepas & Cifras disponibiliza o estudo na íntegra ao final deste post), em 2024 o país tinha 790 municípios com pelo menos uma cervejaria registrada. Isso representa 14% do total de cidades brasileiras. Em Santa Catarina, no entanto, a presença é bem maior. O estado possui 104 municípios com ao menos um estabelecimento fabricante de cerveja. Ou seja, 35% do total de 295 cidades catarinenses. Além disso, Santa Catarina possui três cidades entre as 20 com maior número de cervejarias. Blumenau é a 12ª no ranking nacional, com 18 cervejarias registradas. Joinville é 17º, com 12 estabelecimentos, e Florianópolis aparece em 18º, com 11 unidades. A liderança é de São Paulo (SP), com 66, seguida de Porto Alegre (RS), com 43, e Curitiba (PR), com 29. Belo Horizonte (MG), com 25, e Caxias do Sul (RS), com 22, aparecem em seguida.
Com forte presença de cervejarias pelo estado, Santa Catarina se destaca também na relação entre estabelecimentos e número de habitantes. O estado é vice-líder neste quesito, registrando uma fábrica a cada 32,2 mil habitantes. O número só fica atrás do Rio Grande do Sul, que tem uma cervejaria a cada 32,1 mil habitantes. A média brasileira, conforme o Anuário da Cerveja, é de uma fabricante a cada 109 mil pessoas. Uma dessas cervejarias é a Kairós, que abastece a Grande Florianópolis. Atualmente a empresa produz cerca de 15 tipos diferentes da bebida vendida em garrafas ou barris.
